I haven´t finished the book yet, but I think some essential questions would be: -Where was the blue key found? What was it useful for? -Which is one of the things Oskar used to do with his father? -In the begining of the book it is mencioned the job of Oskar´s father, do you remember it? -What things do Oskar like giving as a gift to his mother? ANDREA :D
Oskar used to play with his father in central park, Oskar had to search something and his father lat clues for him to search it was like a detective game. CHRISTIAN
he thinks it because she seem a lot better than him and because of Ron, he thinks that she must suffer the same that he is suffering although maybe she is suffering a lot more than what Oskar could imagine and she is just trying to take a breath
I also haven't read the book yet, but I think this questions are essential: 1- In which order Oskar decided to look for the people in the list? 2- Do you think Oskar is mature? 3- Do you think that Oskar's mother missed Oskar's dad? Why or why not? I don't know more quiestions because I haven't finished the book yet and because Andrea put also essential questions. Bye, Álvaro.
I think Oskar is very mature because he is always inventing things and he doesnt like plays for kids his age, he just wants to know how his father died
she has missed him a lot and as I said she is just tyrying to take a breath , she needs a little of peace and Ron gives it to her , I think that she is trying to make the suffering better and having a rest for that much stress sthey are suffering
3- I think Oskar´s mum missed his husband, but she wanted to go on, and smile again. That´s why she say in book that it´s unfair for both of them to be depressed all the time, ecauseshe want Oskar to be happy, as a child should be. Manuela.
3- Ithink that she missed Oskar´s dad, maybe it doen´t seem so but the fact that she is hanging out with another guy doesn´t mean she doesn´t miss him. e was her husband but maybe she only wants to star a ew life.
I thibnk that she miss him a lot because he was her husband and everybody miss a relatives death and also is said in the bookb that she misses CHRISTIAN
I also haven´t finished the book yet, but for there are some importants questions are: 1.Where ( In what part of his body) Oskar granfather have two tattos? 2.Who was the first ¨Black¨ that Oskar visited? 3.What is the name of the women that Oskar´s Granpa love? This are my questiones until now, and this are the more essentials ones. Bye Adan
As far as I have read,I have seen some topics that I think will be interesting to discuss: -when Oskar's father dies, does Oskar change?Does he start to think in a different way? -Does his mother start to behave in a different way towards Oskar? -Has Oskar got a stronger relationship with his mother or his grandmother?
3- He has a stronger relationship with his grandmother, because his mother works, and also because his mother was kind of far away of him, and didn´t care about Oskar to much after Oskar´s father died
1- I think that Oskar satrts thinking in a maturer way after his father die because he takers care a lot from his mother and he investigate his father dead.
2- Yes, his mother started to behave in a different way beacuse at first she wanted to know where he was and she controlled him more but then she doesn´t care too much or at least that what it seems vivian
2-Yes, because when he´s alone in the streets of New York searching all Blacks, it seems that she doesn´t care, because she never asks him where he is going or what he does. Oskar thinks that she doesn´t love him, but the truth is that she knows what he is doing.
Well I haven't finished the book as my classmates but I'm goin to put the questions that I think are important: Why Oskar's father gave Oskar "missions"? How Oskar contact with his grandmother? What thing did he used ? Where he founded? What Oskar thinks about the relation of his mother and Ron? Vivian
Oskar thinks that his mother is in love with Ron, but the mother says: 'He is only a friend'. Oskar thinks so, because when she is with Ron, she is always smiling, laugthing, and having a good time with him.
he comunicates with her grandmothe by a baby aparate he found on a storage of his father and that was of him when he was a child, he also doesn it by notes and binoculars
Abby Black is the wife of the owner of the blue key and the second person Oskar goes to for asking about the key, first she tells him that she doesn't know about the key but then she tells Oskar the truth eight months later
At the begginig Oskar doesn't get on well with his mother, because Oskar thinks that she doesn't take care of him, that she doesn't miss Oskar's father, but at the end, Oskar discovered that his mom, has talked to all the Black's persons before Oskar, so she knows where oskar was, and what Oskar has done.
1-How would you describe the relation between Oskar´s grandmother, and Oskar´s grandfather, Tomas Schell? Is it about love, hate, indifference...? Talk about everything you know. 2-Do letters, in general, play an important role in the story? Why? 3-Why is everything related to the key important for Oskar? And for the story in general?
3-Everything related to the key is important to Oskar because he thinks that the key has something to do with his father(but we find at the end that it does not) so somehow it makes Oskar feel closer to his dad and he thinks that maybe the key will tell him how his father died(what he was doing) so he will stop inventing things about it.
3- After Oskar´s father died, one day he looked at his father´s closet, and he found a key in an envelope, in a blue glass, he though that it might be a key that unlocks something important from his dad, and he also thought that it was strange that in the back of the envelope it was written the word "Black" in red. And that´s way everything related to the key was important for Oskar, because he thought it might be something important from his dad
2- I think the letters are important because it tell us the story between the Oskar's grandfather and Oskar's grandmother. There are also some letters that are for Steven Hacking is which we can know that Oskas likes to invent things.
2- of course the play a importan role in the story, they are very useful to understand the story, to know what Oskar´s grandfather felt about his situation, when he says that he has lost his wife and he feels alone, without the letters whe wouldn´t have been able of understanding that.
1-Why do you think oskar's grandfather left his grandmother? 2-Why is important for Oskar to find what the key opens after his father's death? 3-Why Oskar constantly gets angry with his mother?
Because Oskar´s grandfather had always loved Anna, and he didn´t love Oskar´s grandmother in the same way. Apart from that, their marriage was based on rules and he thought that they weren´t happy with each other.
-What did oskar feel about his father death? -Was oskar mother hanging out with another guy? -Say one game oskar usually played with his father (i havent finnished the book yet)
Osakar felt very disapointed because he loved his dad a lot and he didn`t wanted to forget his father and also he wants to his mother not to forget him because he thinks that she is trying to replacing him with Ron CHRISTIAN
For Oskar it seemed that there was a special relationship between his mother and Ron and he heard them smiling and laughthing but his mother never accepted that she going about with nobody , but later for example at the end they have dinner together and Ron wanted to buy some type of special drums or something like that
Why do you think Oskar starts acting in a maturer way after his father death? At the end, did the key that Oskar found opened something? Who had 'yes' and 'no' tattooed on his hands? CHRISTIAN
2- The key that Oskar found in his father´s closet, wasn´t any key to unlock anything from his father, it was the key of William´s father, which it supposed to unlock a secret box. Because when William´s father died, William sold everything of the house, and Oskar´s father bought the blue glass which had a key inside of it
1-I think Oskar started to act in that so mature way for his age because he missed a lot his dad and in a way he could protect his mother and his grandmother but the change was mainly caused by the death of his father.
His Grandfather got this two tattos because every word he said it reminded Anna , who was his true love.He took this decision since Anna dies in the second world war.
- Why does Oskar wants to know how his father died? - Why Oskar's grandmother doesn't want Oskar to meet his grandfather? - Who was "The Renter"? Alberto
The 2nd one: He does not want him to meet Oskar because she things that he does not have the right because he did not have to put any effort to teach him how to walk, how to write, calm him when he cries...The grandfather has been missed for a long time, and she does not think it is fair now to come and ask to see his granson.
3-The renter was a man Oskar's grandmother told them that lived with her but oskar and either his father didn't believe her . But later once when Oskar needed his granny she wasn't at home and finally he met that strange old man that was supposed to life with her . They made friends and until the end of the book Oskar didn't realised that he was his grandfather.Thomas Shell.
I didn't finished the book yet. -Where dis his father died? (Thomas Schell) Was his body founded? -Firstly, where was the key left? (Before Oskar discovers the key) And what the key could open? -Who was first person that he visited? (When he was researching information about the key) Patricia.
Where did his father ded He died in a terrorist attack I think it was the 11s when the towers were attack I thin that they didn't found the body vivian
3-The first person that he visited I think is the owner of a shop where locks and keys where sold that was next to his home , that's the answer if you are asking from the very beggining . There is where the owner told him that there millions of locks in new York and he told the exact number , approximate , and after this he start to plan everything.
Mis preguntas son estas : - ¿Cómo le gusta a Oskar pasar el rato? - ¿Qué edad dice Oskar que tiene en las cartas? ¿Por qué? - ¿Qué odia Oskar que haga su abuela?
VIVIAN: -1 he likes to play thetambourine, make jewerly and he also likes to invent things. 3- He doesn´t like that she compare himwith his dad, he doesn´t feel comfortable
3- He obviously love her, but since his father died, he thought that she didn´t care or that she didn´t love him. But in the last scene we can appreciate that they love each other
1-I think Oskar suffered a lot even more than his mum or granny , he loved his father too much and he missed him a lot . In some paragraphs he was so angry that he compare his mother and his father and he said to his mum that he would prefered that was his mum that was in the accident later he want to remove that sentence but he had already said it.
-What did Oskar felt when his father died? -What did Mr.Black meant when he said thet he coudn't continue searching with Oskar? -Who did the lockbox key belong to? and what was it's story?
1-Oskar felt wery sad with his father's death but he wanted to hide it like at the beggining in the limousine, he is all the time asking questions to the driver, for helping himself not to think in his dad's death
3- It belonged to Abby Black´s ex-huband, because he had inherited it from his dead father. The problem was that he (Abby´s ex-husband) had decided to sell a lot of things from his father, and Oskar´s father saw a vessel and bought it. Inside that vessel, there was an envelope containing the key. It opened a lockbox which contained money. Finally, Oskar gave him the key.
How is the relationship between Oskar and Aby Black?Does her fell the same as him? Does Oskar usually lie? Does the relationship between Oskar and Ron change while the book passes?
3- At first, Oskar doesn´t like Ron so much because is the boy who0 want to be with his moher but is obviously just because he thinks that if his mother find a new love she will forget his father. With the time their relationship is better. Lorena
3-Yes Oskar hates him at the beggining because he thinks that his mother wants to marry him to replace dad but at the end Ron tells Oskar that he also lost her family in a car accident and then Oskar understands him and tells his mother that se can fall in love with Ron if she wants
Oskar started to lie to his mother, when she told her that he had fever but it wasn't. Oskar decided to start counting his lies. So, yes, he lies a lot.
Answer to the question 3. I really don't know if Oskar gets better on well with Ron, but Oskar discovered that Ron also has losted his wife and that he gets on well whit Oskar's mother because the had suffered the same hurt.
2:At first,Oskar did not used to lie,but when he starts to search for the key,he finds it necessary so he does not have to tell to his mother about it becasue maybe she does not allow him to continue the search. He also lies to other people so he can get more information about the key.
The relantionshp between Abby and Oskar was really close but he felt in love with her and she didn´t feel the same because she was too old for him. Adan
2- Oskar never told a lie, but in two ocassions he told to his mum that he was ill (this means do not go to school)to have more time to search information about the key.
